Comparison of the "integration plans for refugees" of the Ministry of Education in the Czech and German language areas using the example of the Prague Spring, the Civil War in Syria, and the Russian-Ukrainian War
Peřinová, Anna Magdaléna ; Kafka, Clemens (advisor) ; Botlík Nuc, Tomáš (referee)
After Ukraine was invaded by Russia in 2022, one of the biggest humanitarian crises in the last few years has occurred. The wave of Ukrainian refugees has found their refuge and protection mainly in the surrounding countries, which have since been trying to integrate them into society until the war ends. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to find out what consequences the Ukrainian refugee wave has on the educational system of individual states. The emphasis is on the adaptation of elementary schools and the integration of Ukrainian refugee children into the collective. For this purpose, the method of analysis of the integration plans of the ministries of education of the Czech Republic, the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Austria was chosen. This analysis was then supplemented by the interview method with teachers and sitting in on classes at Czech and Austrian primary schools. The results of the survey show the far-reaching problems that schools must face when integrating refugees. Despite the long-term experience of some states with the integration of refugees, integration plans do not always correspond with the reality that prevails in schools. Nevertheless, the conducted research found that teachers manage the situation well and are well supported materially. The main...

The aim of the diploma thesis entitled Milan Weiner and his position in the media is to map the life and professional career of journalist Milan Weiner, and to highlight his contribution to Czechoslovak Radio. This professional biographical study is organised in chronological order and covers a period of 45 years - from 1924 to 1969 (i.e. from Weiner's birth to his death). Most of the chapters begin with the political-social environment of the time to provide context, as they had a significant influence on Weiner's existence due to his Jewish origin. The main part of the thesis deals with the activities of Weiner in Czechoslovak Radio, where he joined in 1963 as the head of the Redakce mezinárodního života. The text also describes Weiner's family background, his stay in concentration camps and his work as a foreign-news correspondent for the Rudé právo and the ČTK in Beijing. While working on this study, the method of comparison was used on the gained materials, as well as the method of oral history based on a personal interview conducted with the daughter of Milan Weiner, Jana Šmídová.

Czech Union of Journalists during The Prague Spring
Suková, Jana ; Cebe, Jan (advisor) ; Končelík, Jakub (referee)
This bachelor thesis describes the Czech Union of Journalists in the Prague Spring. The aim is not only to analyze details of the situation in the Union of Journalists, who in 1968 went trough a major ideological change, but also on the issue of the journalists in the long term. I want to focus on the development of Union in 1968 and attempt to find answers to these questions: When did the Union became the authority that supported the reform ideas of the late 60's? Why there was a break between the members of the journalistic organization? In addition this work should uncover the relationship between the general development of the situation in Czechoslovakia and the Union of Journalists, to explain some of the attitudes of journalistic organization at the time. Finally, the work does not neglect neither media area as Czechoslovak Television, Czechoslovak Radio and all printed materials which were always shaped mainly by journalists. Therefore this work deals with the close relationship between the Union of journalists and media in general. Especially, this relationship in my work is raised during the first days of the occupation that Czechoslovakia affected on 21st August 1968, during which the media, thanks to relentless work of journalists, has become indispensable organizers of social events.

"Conditions of exile: language, text and history in the work of Libuše Moníková and Milan Kundera"
Reuter, Magdalena Antonia ; Vojvodík, Josef (advisor) ; Heczková, Libuše (referee)
This diploma thesis aims to demarcate the term "exile" and its conditions, further the thesis explores the impacts this experience has on a writer's work, especially the problem of writing in a foreign language and the character of translation. Concretely the present thesis is based on the literary work of Libuše Moníková and Milan Kundera. The first chapter examines the general research field in detail and the occurrence of related themes in the production of both authors. The following two chapters treat individual aspects of work created under the condition of exile - language and translation on the one hand, the correlations of text and history on the other. The findings of all analyses performed within this diploma thesis relate not only to the individual authors, but can be employed to specify and supplement the over-all picture of Czech literature of the second half of the 20th century, as the phenomenon of exile is essential for the understanding of this specific period. Keywords Literature in exile, Milan Kundera, Libuše Moníkové, Prague Spring, translation.
